The spa industry has been a rewarding and successful experience for me for 26 years. As a Licensed Esthetician, Spa Director and Educator for AME spa, I’ve seen the industry evolve into an enormous fusion of beauty, wellness, and anti-aging from facials to intravenous Vitamin C!
I attained my PA Esthetics license in 1989 from Venus Beauty Academy and was hired by Pastore Productions, now known as AME Salon and Spa. While trained in traditional facials, microdermabrasion, acid peels, introduction to Fraxel laser, waxing and hydrotherapy treatments, I’ve integrated subtle techniques from Asian and Ayurvedic cultures focusing not just on the integrity of the skin, but more importantly on the human spirit.
In 2007, I learned Shirodhara, an Ayurvedic practice, at the Massage Arts Center of Philadelphia. My teacher, Amarjeet Bharma, from the UK is internationally known. Thai Hot Stem body treatment inspired by the culture of Thailand is a modality I learned in 2010.
Further interests include Morphology and Iridology. Continuing educational classes at International Dermal Institute have included Treating Sensitive Skin, Therapies for Aging Skin, Successful treatments for Hyperpigmentation and Chinese Acupressure. Other certifications include Preston Wynne Spa Director series completed in 2001.
I love every aspect of the spa industry and am involved in client care, spa treatment development, product research, written articles, script development and educating upcoming spa technicians. Future pursuits include enrollment in The Summit Coaching program at Ame Spa and becoming more independently involved within the community through articles and lectures on my experiences within the industry and how I can help improve a person’s skin through non-surgical facial rejuvenation.
Another passion of mine is the elderly. I love to sing for them at the senior centers and
enjoy pairing my love for them with my love for singing. I feel very fulfilled being able
to realize both of my passions.
